OP always has useful info. Just because someone else in their infinite wisdom doesn't need it running EK-Velocity , EK-CoolStream PE 360, XSPC TX240 Ultrathin, EK X-RES 140 Revo D5 RGB PWM on a 10980XE that cant get past 4.6GHz on an R6EO doesn't mean its not good info for others.

FWIW I have a 7940x with an original R6E and with some BIOS TPM tweaks the Windows Check Tool gave me a thumbs up. Not sure if that even means anything at this point.

I have exactly the same configuration and all is well.......let's hope they don't change anything since I really see no reason to change my CPU before new platforms arive.....I have 8 Cores @ 4.9 and the rest @ 4.8 and no need for more cores.....

Lightbulb 78XX/79XX/99XX were official support by Windows 11

Hi mates , @Super Gnome @JTZ1032 and everyone.

Due Windows 11 itself were on development ,
The final product minimum requirement hardware could be subject change with out notice later.

The Skylake X SKUs and Skylake X Refresh SKUs ( Core i9 78XX,79XX and 99XX ) were support by Windows 11 officially.

Both may not list on Microsoft CPU support list due it was EOL products from Intel internal documents.
However those SKUs above were the same Microarchitect and internal CPU die configuration as Intel XEON Scalable processor 1st gen ( It was XEON Gold series which not EOL same as HEDT parts ) . which Microsoft list on Windows 11 CPU supported.

You'll check via the second digit of XEON GOLD model which support by Microsoft document below link.

Core i9 78XX/79XX/99XX were the same SKUs as XEON Scalable 1st Gen

The second digit of XEON/XEON W SKUs mean microarchitect level of it here
    for example , XEON Gold 6 [1] 32 ,
[1] = Skylake SP [2] = CascadeLake SP [3] Cooperlake SP or Icelake SP

Then everyone please enjoy and relaxing with Microsoft Windows 11 which your
78XX/79XX/99XX processors. It was official support by Microsoft Windows 11 natively.
