New Z590 Build - No internet Connection and cannot install drivers

Hi all,

Just finished my new build based around the z590 and installed the OS Win10 64 bit.

The problem is that I have no internet connection and when I go to install the LAN drivers which i downloaded on another device and transferred to my new build, from Intel, the installation halts and says "Intel Ethernet network drviers not detected. Please download and install the Intel Ethernet Driver package and try again". But that is exactly what I am trying to install.

I have also tried installing the LAN and chipset drivers from the Asus support page but it will not install saying "does not support this operating system: WNT_10.0H_64" Well I am running Win 10 64 bit and there was only one driver option anyway.

I am at a complete loss and super confused as to why win 10 would not already have basic drivers for the LAN.

The Win 10 media I am using is wuite old and from initial release. Is it possible that it is just too old and lacks the bare minimum of updates?

Please help, thanks! 🙂

We had the same issue with the latest version of Windows 10 May 2021 on a Z590 Asus mobo, I was baffled it didn't have basic ethernet drivers, we used this Intel package:
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/22283/Intel-Ethernet-Adapter-Complete-Driver-Pack

All Windows 10 updates are free and you should install the latest in case the driver model has changed etc. You can update or create a bootable usb stick to clean install the latest version 21H1 (May 2021 update):
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

But that's a lot of downloads, about 4 GB for Win10, and 700 MB for the Intel drivers.

So I did download that driver pack, and that is where I am getting the error from. When I go into Device Manager, no network adapters even appear.

Did you load BIOS defaults? Did you check the manual for ethernet chip, wether it's Intel or Realtek etc.?

BIOS is in default and yes it is an intel I225-V LAN

I'm not sure what else to suggest, what does HWInfo show under Network?

Hi all,
I had the same problem, and the only way to fix it was making a usb installation with a Windows 10 installation media, as described in the link mentioned above.
Hope this helps somebody else.
Thank you!

I experienced the same lan driver problem on my Z590 build. I had an early version of Windows 10 that I was using for the build. I put a cheap ethernet card into the pcie slot and my early Windows 10 had the driver for it. Once I had a internet connection the updating of drivers and Windows 10 occurred and the 2.5 ethernet on the motherboard began to work. I pulled out the cheap ethernet card out and I have not had any problems.
