Yea one way to tell if the system has a bad sleep is if you have rgb ram and the lights go out instead of staying on. That's if you keep lights on for standby mode in bios. It does the same **** for sleep and shutdown. Some error is occuring with either the bios or hardware causing it to error for both of these processes.

Yeah, thing with LED as indication also works.


I also trying DOCP setting suggested here right now. Will see how it goes.

I've been battling this issue for months, read every post and tried every method, no fix. RMA the board is the way to go.

i have this MB nearly a month now. Had the same problem you guys describe. After the newest Bios update (3904) i had no problems for nearly 7 days. But starting 3 days ago it resurfaced. i have it daily now...

i also can confirm: you can see if the mainboard has a bad sleepstate if the rgb lights on the mainboard are not working anymore (if activated in bios).

Other than this issue, the board is functioning well and everything else works great. This is just a super annoyance to have on an expensive board. My tower is on my desk and my psu switch is super easy to reach when my shutdown and subsequent power ups fail. Can imagine for some people where they would have to crawl on floor to reach their psu switch would get even more annoyed then me. lol Hey ASUS this isn't a rare occurrence and is a plague with these series of boards, give us details please!

No luck with DOCP settings to fix startup issue.

When I shut down pc after gameing or editing videos, this start up issue happens 100%.
So I just checked below.

Case1:Start up pc -> Logon to windows -> Just shutdown ->[result] Start up issue is not happened.

Case2:Start up pc -> Run 3D mark ->After the 3D mark finished quick shut down ->[result] Start up issue is happened. 5/5

Case3:Start up pc -> Run 3D mark -> after the 3D mark finished 5min cool down time then shut down ->[result] Start up issue is not happened.


I guess
just before shutdown -> mb BIOS hold a high temperature on some parts and just keep holing while pc is off. *
then after the shutdown, when you try to boot pc, the bios check the held temp.
PC fans are not running and the held temp is high.
So it is not starting up?

Could someone confirm this with your pc?

My PC spec
Ryzen7 5800X
CORSAIR DDR4-3600MHz 16GBx4
Asus Strix-LC-3080Ti-O12G-gaming

And I'm using Hwinfo64 pro, every sensors show under 80 degree temp when Im playing game and editing vid.
So it most be ok.*

Hello guys,

No problem since I received my new board.
But guess what ?

New start up issue with the new BIOS UPDATE....

The computer start, instantly switch off and restart by himself 2 second later...

To be honnest I think it's my last time I'll choose ASUS for motherboard.

Is there anyone with in the same case ? Eveything was fine with previous bios version

Hello guys,
I've made a full clean install and no more booting issue. Here what I did :
- clean CMOS
- reinstall bios 3904 via usb
- clean all hard disk from bios with asus secure erase (important step)
- install windows by setting hard disk to GPT
- set the bios to nvidia rezisable mode
- install all the drivers
- VBIOS the graphic card (it's was the first time i did it, maybe this is what fixed the problem)
- Resizable bar is now on
- I've tested the turn on/off 20 times this morning and it's seems ok.
