Is it worth purchasing the R6EE etc or holding for the next CPU range?

Hi all,
I'm looking at upgrading from my R4F hex core to the R6EE with a 10/12 core, I'm not looking for PCIe gen4 as I will move over my 2x 1070's for cost reasons. I will be running 2x M2 drives minimal and with a couple of sata SSD's.

The reason I am looking at this board is for the larger memory capacity, m2 drive slots and with the x299 CPU's the pcie lanes to cover both dual SLI and the number of M2 drives.

My question is regarding with new gen CPU'S coming out is it better to try holding off going to an EOL board CPU or go for it?

I also have been looking against the QVL for RAM and most or all of the G.Skill memory isnt available anymore except for different latency times sticks. Does anyone know if these work with the R6EE board?

If you aren't already on it its too close to release time of new platforms. Expensive venture to say you are going to use 1070s on an HEDAT platform that's gonna cost you at least $2K to cross over to.

There are 2 option for discuss mate.

If you want new CPU Core ( Golden Cove ) beyond 18 core. PCIE 5.0 x 16 CXL Interconnect DDR5 8400+ .
LGA 4677 Sapphire Rapid X with Intel 7 process will ready on Q3 2022. Let's prepare your budget now ($3000+ build may required).

If you want save budget and enjoy exist platform. Choose R6EE and enjoying W11.

Thanks, I have sufficent monies to cover the Board, CPU, RAM, Case, PSU and M2 drives, I just cannot do GFX cards. I will be selling the old PC but im not expecting very much for it.

My issue with non enthusiast CPU's now is the PCIe lane restrictions. Looking at some of the information with Alderlake, there is question marks regarding the suitability toward gaming.

Alder lake was designed for mainstream platform.
It was hybrid Golden Cove + Gracemont Microarchitecture.

It also need DDR5 PCIe 5.0 x 16 GFX ( AMD NAVI 3 or NVIDIA RTX 4000 GPU required ).
Z690 PCH will your choice if selected this way.For gaming office suite and general task.
Overall performance It will on par with AMD Zen3+3D V-cache Series.

The Sapphire Rapid X was all Golden Cove Microarchitecture cores.
Focusing on HEDT and Workstation area. Maximum 56 C 112 T
80 PCIe 5.0 Lane New CXL 1.1 interconnected.

89590
Sapphire Rapid X coming with new Intel Advance Matrix Extension.
( Compared to AVX512 on my Skylake X , it was AVX 8192 )
TMUL ISA can do 16X performance over AVX512 on Matrix Operations
( Inverse , Transpose , Fast Fourier transform , determinants operations ).

If you prefer something that enhance the world first.
Sapphire Rapid X was designed for you. or Waiting for next level below

Id be holding out awhile. literally everything but socket 1200 is EOL. I Have the R6EE with a 10980 XE but if it was right now Id be waiting as better things are around the corner. I looking down the road a couple of years at this point as all my scores are in the top 99%. Right now is perhaps the worst time is PC history to be thinking about a new build. everything is inflated and all EOL.

I think Ill be dumping my cash in a new screaming eagle 114 for my fatboy instead.
