I have a ROG MAXIMUS XII FORMULA, Core I7-10700K and an ASUS GTX 1080 TI ROG POSEIDON video card, when I plug it into the first pci slot it gives an error code A2 IDE DETECT, it only works normal if I plug it into 2 and on the 3rd pci slot.
Has anyone experienced this problem, and that could help me.

Did you actually change anything recently, or was this always an issue and now trying to fix it, or did this suddenly start happening ?

I didn't change anything at all, I turned off the computer and then it started to show this error.

My system is new, it must be about 3 months old.
Yes I unplugged the power supply.

That is a dead end, sometimes BIOS battery can cause issue on the way out, but seems unlikely from the information. Sorry, out of ideas on this one based on current information.

Hey,

Yep, I had an IDE Detect error before. My issue was that the video output from the graphics card had in-proper bandwidth connection to the monitor. At that time I was trying to connect to a LG TV and was using the wrong port on the TV. Try checking in your monitor's user manual which port has sufficient bandwidth. It could be HDMI 1 or HDMI 2 port on the back of the monitor. It could be in-sufficient HDMI cable that your using. At most, if your monitor supports HDMI 2.0 or better connection, make sure you have the right cable.
If the problem still persists, it could be a issue with your M.2 slots. Let us know
🙂

Hello, if there was someone a problem with the hdmi cables they would also not give a problem in the rest of the other pci slots.
The same hdmi cables I used to plug it into the first slot are the same ones I use to plug it into the third pci slot that works perfectly.
