What is this forum, a tech support site for ASUS motherboards, if not tell me so!!???

I really don't know what this is for, not a big gamer, in case I've missed something I'll give this a try....

I have a K8N Asus motherboard it has two onboard connections for SATA drives.

The board is about 4 years old now, can the SATA controller onboard support a current new Blu-Ray burner that is a SATA drive or is there compatability problems due to continual updates to the SATA format?

Thanks.

The updates to the SATA format are intended to be backwards compatible so that you can mix hardware but it will just operate at the slowest of either the device or controller. Are you having problems with your burner?

Oh, and this is an enthusiast discussion forum *and* a user to user support forum. There are ASUS people around but usually the first person to see your post will be another ASUS customer.
