The 10th Gen has 4 lanes less than the 11th. I went with the 11th and am very happy with it. M.2 NVMe drive does twice the speed of the PCIe 3.0. The PCIe bandwidth is almost twice that of the PCIe 3.0..which make a difference with a PCIe 4.0 Video card like the Nvidia 3090..
Maybe you could upgrade when you can. Luckily, I had the Retail version of Win 10 so I could change out the processor without any problems..
