Major hardware issues with ASUS G733qs (Rog Strix Scar 17) out of the box.
So I've bought this overpriced laptop to replace my HP Omen with burned motherboard. But after 2 weeks of use, I've noticed 2 severe issues that persisted right out of the box and can't be fixed by drivers swapping and clean windows re-installation:
1. Hardware Acceleration and work splitting of Ryzen9+RTX3080 tandem is completely broken.
I mean:
a) Playing even a low quality video in Edge Browser with Hardware Acceleration enabled leads to severe system stuttering and apps crashing.
b) OBS Studio running in "auto-select GPU" mode creates poor and stuttering video files and streams.
c) Aura service works glitchy with "Adaptive color" effect enabled. The "performance" mod of Aura just causing constant LED spasms when some apps are running, windows switched or cursor moving.
d) Any screen capturing services (OBS and Aura's Adaptive color feature) are causing major rendering issues of Windows graphical features and apps: sick Acryl effect distortions and flickering for example.
2. Severe Wi-Fi latency spikes in certain conditions.
I've run some tests and found out that some of Windows' stock background processes can sometimes burst too long packet queues to my ASUS RT-AC65P router and create Buffer bloat by that. For some reason this laptop's Wi-Fi module is extremely sensitive to Buffer bloat episodes. Or maybe it is actually is responsible for these episodes. When buffer bloat occurs every networking app on the laptop instantly receives 2000ms ping spike. This kind of network behavior is an exclusive for this particular laptop and is not present on any other device connected to this router.
I'm kinda desperate now. Will appreciate any help. The support team is not helping much.Last edited by Black_Justicar; 08-31-2021 at 01:21 PM.

Read through this, I get shinny n new should work, one post claims a workaround,
I just think get another NIC and make some recommendations based on what I have used in my Asus laptops.

I dont no for sure it will fix your issue, just giving some ideas and how go about it (particaulary issues with NIC's, piss em off let them be someone else headache and use one that works).Last edited by RedSector73; 08-31-2021 at 02:51 PM.

Thank you for your reply, but that's not my type of problem. I have no issues with Wi-Fi speed. And switching different NIC drivers done zero effect for me.
And yes, my laptop is also under warranty. It costed me 3800$ here in Russia, where the median salary equals 490$ per person per month. So I don't want to screw this up by custom components.
