armouryswagent

Every time I start my computer, there is a window open displaying nothing with the name 'armouryswagent'.

What is that? I didn't have that until I uninstalled and reinstalled armoury crate in an effort to show my XG349C monitor in the armoury crate (which was a fail)

Waiting for an answer too. After updating armoury crate to the latest version, I have this ArmouryCrateSWAgent run at boot. It doesn't show any window or anything, it just sits in task manager eating ~5MB of ram until I force stop it. It doesn't seem to affect Armoury Crate functionality if I force stop it. Asus, care to explain what is this software and why is needed to run endlessly?

That gent has some swag! 😛

I dropped back to Armoury Crate v3.0.11.0

Since I was having SO MANY silly issues with the newest version(s), frozen installations, installation fails, lighting profiles not maintaining in memory etc.

v3.0.11.0 is working with no issues on the Apex XIII.

Not exactly the answer I was hoping for but thanks!

First year+ Aura was a *****, I was hoping Armoury crate would be in a more mature state by now. This new stuff all started when I bought my new XG349C which is Aura compatible and I wanted to make it visible in the armoury crate to be synced with my Rog MOBO, RTX3080, Spatha X and Claymore....

Suggestion by Asus was to remove Armoury create, reinstall it to fix that. Result, still not visible and I have this not so cool pop up every time.

I found that is a problem of the latest Asus Core and SDK. To solve that you can downgrade Armoury Crate to version 4.1.6.0 and the problem will be solved.
Run the Armoury Crate Uninstaller first: https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/14Utilities/Armoury_Crate_Uninstall_Tool.zip
Here's the link for Armoury Crate 4.1.6.0: https://www.asustreiber.de/downloads/download/62-asus-install-packs/871-armoury-crate-notebook-pack

Hah! Any software with it's very own separate "uninstall" application, you know there's gonna be trouble.

Installing previous version v3.0.11.0 is a temporary workaround until Win11 arrives next month, at least that's how I'm implementing it. Your lighting will return as gorgeous as ever. 🙂

Then give time for ROG to (once again) fix the issues. (rolling eyes emoticon)

A workaround is to simply press "Win key" + "Tab" and click on "New Desktop" and then drag this ArmourySwAgent windows to the new desktop that you have just created it.

This is temporarily solution until ASUS fixes it.

I'll be watching the Alder Lake release closely, it should be fascinating, although planning on sitting it out (I'll watch you guys have all the fun) and wait for Raptor Lake and the 13900K 5.5Ghz stock sounds pretty sweet.

Cannot wait to see the brand new Maximus XIV (14) Apex board and learn all about its amazing features, almost hoping it might be EATX with the original Apex X-shaped cut-outs along the edges of the board, but my next motherboard will most definitely be the Maximus XV (15) Apex in 2022.

I'm already running 5866Mhz ddr4 memory, and even though it's not a fair comparison to ddr5 speeds, do believe I can wait for the new memory to mature just a bit - I'm hoping my next RAM kit is ddr5 7200Mhz - wishful thinking.

My next project is to replace the "way too blue" AMD workstation graphics card with a nice monochrome black Nvidia RTX A2000 dual slot card, oh it's pretty.

Good Luck with Armoury Crate. 🙂
