Rampage III Extreme, KHX1600C9D3K6/24GX problem with XMP

Hello!

Conf: Rampage III Extreme, i7 920 at default 2,6Ghz

I just bought KHX1600C9D3K6/24GX (in QVL) and tried 3 modules ( 3 x 4gb, total 12 gb 😞
3 Modules in red slots (A1, B1, C1)

1. Reset bios to factory default - works
2. Switch dram to 1333Mhz - works
3. reset to defaults, switch AI Overclock to X.M.P [QPI 1.4, Bus 1.65] - fail to boot ( no initialization, no picture, no beep )
4. reset to defaults, tried [QPI 1.5 Bus 1.65 and lower with 1600Mhz - same, no boot]

Old memory - KHX1600C9D3K3/6GX (in QVL) ( 3 x 2gb, total 6gb ) works perfect on X.M.P. 1600Mhz, QPI 1.4, Bus 1.65

What i am doing worng? Specifications says KHX1600C9D3K6/24GX supports XMP. Can it be bad modules?

Try setting the configuration manually (Not using X.M.P.) and see if it works.
If still no go I'd say your RAM is DOA.
MB: ASUS Rampage IV Black Edition

tried manual set: 1600Mhz, [QPI 1.4, Bus 1.65] - same, [QPI 1.5, Bus 1.65] - same 😞

Have you tried any other combination of 3 sticks in the same kit?
Maybe the other 3 will boot. If so, that would isolate the RAM as being bad.

I'm leaning towards bad RAM here especially since the last set worked.
Let us know how it turns out...

Ok. I bought this kit with friend ( 12gb me, 12gb him ), so i will try and post report in few days

Updated BIOS to 1401 ( from asus.com ) and now memory starts and works with X.M.P. profile. also memtest passed.
