    Strip Windows 10

Back in the days of when I was still benchmarking, I used stripped down versions of the O/S's. Windows 7 was the last platform I benchmarked to any extent on. With Win7, I used RT Se7en to strip the Win7 install ISO to create a custom install ISO for benching. It worked very well. Could automate the install.

Is there such a tool for Win10? If not, what are the best ways to create a clean and stripped down install of Win10 for benchmarking?

I am getting decent numbers, but considerably lower than the top scores in 3dMark with same clock speeds/temps.

If you look at my score for a RTX 3070 paired with an i9-10850, and the top score for the same combo, quite a difference in score, but not clock speeds. Is he/she gaining that much alone on Vram speed or vga driver? I am above on CPU and system memory speed., so it should be coming down to card/driver or OS.

    My score

Just wondering if the Windows install is making the difference. I was using my full-blown Win10 install for these scores. Games and all. OS and 3DMark are on a 1TB WD Black M.2 drive.

Thanks for the reply RedSector73. I found similar. HWBOT has a guide as well.

Was hoping to find a version of RT Se7en for Win10. It allowed a person to go directly into the install ISO and remove or add elements prior to even installing.

Any idea about the scores? Why such a disparage with close to the same clock speeds.

Well what crossed my mind wasn't this but rather you may have pushed too high (or have an instability), which is causing correctable errors. My first thought was to match his clocks and see if you match his score.

    Again, thanks.

Sounds logical. I will back off the CPU by 100mhz as well and give that a go next time. Something else I can try is having the vram same speed as well. Although my GPU core was higher than his, his mem frequency was higher than mine by quite a bit. My temps were quite a bit lower than his as well by the looks of his run.

I am sure my Win10 install had some bearing on the lower score, but I also think you have a very valid point.

Something else to do that I do every week is run the system file checker that will repair any damaged system files that causes WHEA errors.

Pretty simple and only takes a couple of minutes. It will give you a report at the end. It will either say no integrity violations found or tell you it found and fixed errors and provide a path to the log file if you want to view what was corrupted. just be ready to do a lot of scrolling because its a very long list of everything it checked and what was broke and what it fixed.

Just open command prompt or power shell with admin privileges. Type in sfc /scannow and hit the enter button.

Files get corrupted when overclocking and this will fix just about any WHEA error. Running it now so I can post a pic. I havent run it since the last Win11 update.
Heres what it looks like with no integrity violations. Even though it give a link for the latest this is the latest version of power shell.
