Weird. The guy I talked to walked me through some troubleshooting steps and concluded that it's a BIOS issue after I explained that the problem began with the update. A lot of companies these days seem to jump straight to RMA and have little interest in actual support. Maybe it costs them less to RMA than to pay someone to help fix these problems.

*Facepalm* I guess we will all just have to wait for the next bios revision and hope it works.

I should add that I tried the process twice. My system is pretty solid and I've never had any previous issues with any BIOS updates on this board.

Just had a similar issue on a brand new build. Although mine booted just fine after the 2301 flash. My issue started when running the Intel ME from MoKiChU's post https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthrea...ntel-ME-(Z490)
I ran the check as admin which it was an older version then what the file on this page is so I then ran the install as admin. It went through the update process and went to hell after reboot into this boot loop that is described here. Click goes the psu, fans barely spool up, and rgb comes on then shuts off. Rinse repeat to the sum of 20+ times until I force shut it down with the hopes it would finish what it needs to do on reboot and nope. Right back to the cycle.

Sounds like using USB flashback to the previous bios could potentially fix it so running that next I guess.

    UPDATE

Bios USB Flashback to 2201 got me back in and Intel ME is still on version 14.1.60.1790. All is fine and well until flashing to 2301 again. This is where the boot loop starts all over again.

SO YOU CAN'T UPDATE TO THE NEWEST INTEL ME 14.1.60.1790 IF ON 2301 ALREADY AND YOU ALSO CAN'T UPDATE TO 2301 IF ALREADY ON INTEL ME 14.1.60.1790.

Anyone know how to get Asus to actually look into this issue? I know they virtually don't bother with these forums.

Interesting but is still beyond the newest that Asus has on the support site which is Version 14.1.51.1528 so that very well may be your issue with 2301 also. Again an issue with Asus not having newer versions of ME F/W authorized in the bios is my guess. Then again I'm not a computer programmer so not sure if that is how this stuff works but I assume it's something of that nature otherwise there really should be no issue in the pc's booting.

Is it possible to rollback the ME FW?

I only tried to rollback with the officially supplied ME F/W from the Asus support page and was denied. Said ME F/W doesn't need to be updated. So not sure if there is a way around this or not. Guess lesson learned getting the newest released drivers etc from MoKiChU here on the forums. Only down side is security vulnerabilities etc that are fixed in things such as the ME F/W are usually months out for an official Asus release if they even do a release.

Just look how far they are behind already. There are at least 2 ME F/W updates that have been released that aren't on the support page. Your version and the one I'm running. Could be others as I'm not sure where to check for all versions that are released.
