Prime-A Z590 - only with nvme-SSDs - do i need AHCI-Drivers?

Hi,

i want to run 2 nvme-SSDs on my Prime-A Z590.
1 PCIe 4.0 4x in Slot M2_1
1 PCIe 3.0 4x in Slot M2_3
NO SATA-Drives!

I disable all SATA-Ports in the Bios.

Do i still need the AHCI-Driver or is this for SATA only?

Thanks!

Hi,

No, you don't need SATA AHCI drivers.

Note : Since you are not using your SATA ports at all, in order to save energy, you can disable your SATA Controller in your BIOS (Avanced > PCH Strorage Configuration > SATA Controller : Disabled then F10 to save & exit).
