asus ryuin was a great idea but poorly executed

i love the idea of these coolers, it's oled so you can have something black without it looking awful.

but thats where it stops being good

these cpu coolers are really disappointing in build quality, the round one has a square screen, the colors and resolution is just awful, the customizability is awful, you can just use low res gifs or stats which is the only thing it was good for

both coolers are pretty much just plastic theres no metal anywhere, and plastic scratches incredibly easy

my ryuin or whatever it's called the more expensive one ended up getting burnin so i am trading it in for a different model and i have no interest to trade it for another of these

i love the idea of having a screen and no logos as it personalizes the entire experience but the execution and build quality makes these coolers something i can't recommend

    some feedback

make them metal rather than plastic it goes a long way metal and glass and keep using oled not lcd
for the round one just use a standard round screen like a smartwatch with a good resolution and vibrant colors
allow for more functionality, maybe have asus motherboards sync with it to show useful information during boot a more dynamic experience, so when you have built a pc you can see that everything is working as it should when you boot without having to connect a monitor even better would be make an sdk to use the screen as you please rather than having a standard asus logo loop unless you use the buggy armor crate

    Ryujin 2 360

    - Great Oled.
    - Can´t read water temp (wtf)
    - Can´t read water flow (wtf)
    - Can´t read cpu fan rpm if you follow instruccións (WTF)
    - Can´t read GPU temp on OLED (WTF)
    - Diference temps between Oled and Hardware Monitor (over 10 degrees) (Really?)

    Bah.. 260 euros wasted ¬¬

You forgot to mention the Armoury Crate software is pathetic, my Ryujin II 360 refuses to update, so I can't even change the fan speeds or customize the display.

The first Ryujin was the concept, the second is much more refined.

But even so, the first edition is something amazing.

(+) The Noctua fans are really up to par, there is no need to change them.
(-) There is no RGB fans and Noctua does not make them.
(+) The OLED, remember that when launched there were no true competitor back then
(-) OLED's (not just this one, every OLED) can burn in more easily than LCD, change the animations a lot!
    (+) VRM Fan
(-) Also VRM Fan, because it can only be adjusted in Armoury Crate
(+) Cool Factor. I'm sorry but this is NOT a lame looking AIO.
(+) Unboxing can be a lovely experience
    (+) Can change LCD orientation
(-) I don't like the mandatory Armoury Crate updates
    (+) Solid performance & Quiet
