G53SX Replace or upgrade current DVD drive with BD Drive?

Hey everyone,

I was wondering if it were possible to upgrade the DVD Drive that's included with the G53SX line of Asus Notebooks to a Blu-Ray drive. Is it as simple as removing the drive and putting the new one in, or are there other things that will lock me in to using a DVD drive on this notebook?

And if it's possible to upgrade, what model number should I be looking for when I purchase the upgrade drive?

You will need Blu-Ray software to read Blu-Ray disks, and that isn't free. Sometimes it comes with the drive itself, but sometimes it doesn't. I know ASUS has some on their FTP site, which you could try, but I can't guarantee that it would work:confused:. Other than that, it should be a matter of replacing the drive. You might have to move the cover-plate, or else the outside of the notebook would be missing a piece.
