    Hi,

    The Intel ME (Management Engine) is firmware not drivers, only need to flash it once. On the other hand, the Intel MEI (Management Engine Interface) drivers below are the drivers that work in tandem with the Intel ME firmware, and these must be installed at each clean install of Windows :

    I have a question, is this only for ASUS motherboards? Because i switched last week to a MSI board and my ME FIRMWARE is currently 16.1.25.1917, is it updatable on any Z690 Board or this will break my system?

    I think its only for ASUS mobo's, but ask Mr.M, to be sure.

    No, it is not only for ASUS.
    ME firmware is not manufacturer specific, it's chipset specific, or rather chipset generation specific.

    Thank you guys. I'll wait for more replies before giving it a go! I heard specifically in ASUS MBs that putting a Raptor Lake CPU requires to update the ME firmware for it to perform like it would on a Z790 motherboard.

    Since i want to put a raptor like in my Z690 i wanted to make sure to have everything updated to not suffer performance loss

    No they are not ASUS specific, of all that I offer in my firmware/drivers threads (even though they are AIMed for ASUS motherboards), only the audio drivers are ASUS specific. However, even if I don't work for ASUS, I won't give you more answers & talk about competitors products on the ROG forum.
