    Why do the ROG motherboards have audio jacks?

    I've been a long time fan of getting headsets that have separate wires for front/rear/center/sub channels, but those type of headsets are hard to find today. Seems everything is now USB.

    So why do all of the new ROG gaming motherboards (example ROG Crosshair VII Hero)...

    ...come with high quality sound and front/rear/center/sub audio connections if you cannot find headsets that offer those connections?

    If you wanted to connect to a multi-channel audio receiver then those are valuable. I have my PC connected to some Logitech speakers which also accept multi-channel input.

    From what I remember, I had my 5.1 channel setup from Logitech 11 years ago using these audio jacks. I think that the sound quality & responsiveness from an multi-channel setup is far superior then listening to sound on headphones

    Same here, I still rock a Logitech multi speaker setup for general stuff and the Strix Go 2.4 is only for gaming and editing.

    Even the new gaming motherboards today have these ports. Seems odd for a gaming mobo when MOST gamers use headsets and not floor-type speakers.
