Z690 Formula - Video running x8
I am very confused and I need your help.
My setup is:
- z690 Formula (BIOS 702)
- 32Gb Corsair 5200 ram (2x16)
- 1 NVMe (connected to slot M.2_1 - CPU)
- RTX 3090 (connected to PCIEX16 slot (G5)_2 (not to overheat the NVMe)
Why the video card appears at x8 speed ???? The three PCIEs are not x16 ???
When use Nvme M2_1 + Video PCIEX slot (G5)_1, Video = x16
When use Nvme M2_1 + Video PCIEX slot (G5)_2, Video = x8
I failed to configure something in the BIOS ???
Thank you in advance for any guidance.Last edited by TZero; 12-21-2021 at 02:21 AM.

Please read the motherboard manual. It's there for a reason.
The 2nd PCIE slot will never run at x16. When populated it will run at x8 (shared with PCIE slot 1 x8).
Lane configuration is x16/x0 PCIE1, x8/x8 PCIE1 + PCIE2. x0/x16 is not a valid configuration.

I appreciate your willingness to explain. Thank you very much.
Honestly, I searched the manual several times and only found reference when using the ROG M2 Card.
I'm just disappointed why then in the manual does it refer to 3 x16 slots?
Anyway, I thank you again for your patience.

I thank you too.
I think I fell into the marketing trap.
I thought I had 3 x4 native M.2 slots (actually there are only 2 - you have to use the PCIEX together with the ROG CARD) // 4 PCIEX x16, which actually aren't either.......I'll end up selling this board on Aliexpress
