Why the ROG Hyper M.2 card?

I have a Lian li XL case with a radiator on the bottom. If I use the ROG Hyper M.2 card it blocks most of the radiator. All the other manufactures have 4 m.2 slots on there higher end boards why did Asus use the ROG Hyper M.2 card? It also blocks air going to the GPU if you have fans in the bottom of your case. I Think is was a bad decision using the cards. I guess I will need to use sata ssds for my backup drives instead of m.2s.

As far as I understand it, that card is needed for a specific configuration. If you have a PCIe 5 NVMe card, maybe that is why but it should be indicated in your user manual.

I use two ssds for boot and games and two for backup. So I need four ssds total.
