Very Poor ROG G15 Wifi (Mediatek) Performance Even After Replacing Card (Intel)

So the Mediatek card that comes with this laptop was absolutely piss poor. You basically cannot play multiplayer games without severe lag issues i.e. rubber banding and jumping around the place.

So I replaced it with an Intel AX200 and although the performance has markedly improved, it is still not smooth at all. There are still micro stutters in multiplayer games.

The only way to get rid of this issue is by connecting to LAN. I have tried 4 different routers ranginging from N, to AC, to AX mode and read all the advice regarding the wifi card settings in device manager to no avail.

Is this just a case of a hardware issue? I.e. the built-in antenna are crap?

I'm sitting 3m from the router. Perhaps I need to invest in an AX one, mine is just an AC.

But that shouldn't be the problems should it?
