Not sure of the significance here for benching and gaming. I’m not sure which processes utilize this instruction set. ??*

I read there were leaked rumors from igorslab that this is going to happen, but nothing actually officially confirmed.

Doesn't make sense to me for Intel to retroactively go back and remove it at this point unless it was causing serious issues. I know it's a extension more geared for xeon workloads and alder lake wasn't technically supposed to have it, but I doubt anyone is buying alder lake to save themselves from dropping more coin on xeon platforms, and the cats kinda already out of the bag, so I doubt they'll do so.

Seems as far as gaming goes, it's beneficial to the retro-emulation community for some performance gains and that's about it. For the HEDT, compute, scientific workloads it's apparently very beneficial to have, though again I don't see desktop alder lake infringing on the Xeon-class workspace as it's aimed at more consumer/enthusiast than enterprise/research by design anyway.
