February Microsoft updates causing spatha x button mappings
Have seen the latest updates (KB5010414 & KB5010474) cause my mouse to lose the ability to send keystrokes mapped to the additional buttons. Removing the patches returned the mouse to normal. Error I was seeing when it was occurring in the Windows Application event log is below.

Hi quartz9090
With windows 11 fully updated, I'm able to assign the side thumb buttons with the keyboard function, they work to paste the letters too.
Rapid Fire works as well.
Try a fresh install of windows 11 (not the upgrade) and see how it goes, I'd be interested to know if you still have the problem.
Is this what you are referring to?

Found the problem
did some troubleshooting, the problem occurs with this update
2022-02 Cumulative Update Preview for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8 for Windows 11 for x64 (KB5010474)
and the machine was a clean install about a month ago with windows 11.
Symptoms are while in the middle of a World of Warcraft retail game the mapped buttons will no longer send mappings such as ctl+f to the game. Have to reboot the machine to get it back for a short period of time (5-15 minutes). the rest of the mouse (movement, r-click, l-click) still work normally.
Removed the update listed above, hid the update and was online for about 2 hours with no issues seen.
