Where is OC mode (BIOS) on my Strix 3080 OC?
Taken from the spec page of the ROG Strix 3080 OC edition:
https://rog.asus.com/nz/graphics-car...ing-model/spec
"OC Mode - 1935 MHz (Boost Clock)
Gaming Mode (Default) - GPU Boost Clock : 1905 MHz , GPU Base Clock : 1440 MHz"
I assume these modes are the BIOS's loaded onto the card? When I got my card it did not have a resizable bar BIOS pre-loaded so I flashed BIOS V5 from the downloads page. I flashed this with the BIOS switch in position #1. Nvidia control panel reports a boost clock of 1905 MHz which suggests this is a Gaming Mode BIOS. However with the BIOS switch in position #2 Nvidia CP reports the same 1905 MHz boost clock which suggests it is also a Gaming Mode BIOS (with no resizeable bar).
So my question is was the OC Mode BIOS never flashed to my card and if so where I do get it?Last edited by Zeroed85; 04-01-2022 at 07:31 AM.

Did some searching and I think OC Mode is simply an overclocking preset with the GPU Tweak III software. I do really question what is the point of a dual BIOS switch GPU then?

I do not have this graphics card, so I may be wrong.
The performance mode and quiet mode only adjust the fan curve due to GPU temperature.

The resizable BAR only improves communication between your CPU and GPU. No effect on GPU boost clock.
https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce...e-bar-support/
Looks like ASUS removed support for 'Always 3D clock' from GPU Tweak III that was in GPU Tweak II.

So my question is was the OC Mode BIOS never flashed to my card and if so where I do get it?
Yes, It's there, but I have no idea where to get it.

Not at 1935 MHz (Boost Clock)
However, you can try GPU Tweak II with ‘Always 3D clock” that worked for old GPUs, but software support for boost clock lost on newer GPUs due to GPU Tweak III.
