Hi. Yes same as all the other bios except the beta one you sent me some months ago.
With every at stock I see weird cpu core voltages of 0.300, 0.200 etc. With beta lowest was 0.700.
As soon as I do minimum voltage offset freeze at idle will occur. As I increase the offset, freeze will happen sooner.
Beta 1603 you sent me was working perfect, but now can't downgrade to that bios since is not supported.

Hi trihy,
Thank you for your confirmation.
I'll consult our tech team about the bios again.

It looks like issue with extremely low voltage at idle is present in latest 2012 bios on B660-I.
I see very often values like 0.3 - 0.4V.
Wasn't the fix for that already included in this release?
BTW - I tried with 0.05V negative offset and result is 11900 point in Cinebench R23. This was with APE disabled.
This value is really strange, as with APE enabled and stock CPU settings (Auto voltages, no voltage offset), CPU package power is the same (~83W) but I have 12700 points.
With 0.06 offset it's 10200.
With 0.07 offset it's 8700.
In all cases, cpu clocked the same 4.1GHz.
Something is not right with BIOS still. Unfortunatelly I have no possibility to check on other motherboard (different brand) to compare it.Last edited by Shosiu; 10-23-2022 at 09:00 PM.

Why you disable APE?
If you want a proper undervolt test leave everything at stock and apply 0.050 negative offset on vrm core voltage.
If you have lower score applying just vrm core voltage offset (always between stable values 0.05-0.050, some cpu could get 0.100 or more, but that's not a proper test) and nothing more, then something is wrong. vrm core voltage offset shouldn't affect cpu score. Period.
Also running just one benchmark isn't a proper test. If your cpu has e cores, try to run benchmarks without them.
I didn't notice that problem on my board, but will report back when they send me a proper bios without the neverending freeze at idle story.Last edited by trihy; 10-23-2022 at 11:19 PM.

And if you see anything lower than 0.700 (or 0.700 minus your undervolt) on vcore voltage on hwinfo (JUST WATCH THIS VALUE, NOT THE OTHER CPU VOLTAGES, I'd PUT PICTURES ABOUT THIS), don't try anything. Your bios is faulty. Ask for a fix for that first.

Hi Shosiu,
May I double confirm it hangs when loading windows with bios all default settings except cpu voltage offset-0.005v on bios 2012?
Did it hang every time you loading windows on bios 2012?
Thank you.

I disabled APE based on advice from Asus support few posts earlier (in this thread).
But whatever I do - disable APE or not, any undervolting causes drop in performance what makes no sense.
Regarding low idle voltage with bios 2012 - what's strange, it's not causing freezes at idle or system hang when loading windows.
However, this voltage can drop even below 0.3V.

If you do undervolt you will have random freeze at idle with stock bios. It could take a day or a week, but will happen.

Hi trihy,
Our tech team said the latest bios 2014 have the same idle freeze fix(same as the special bios).
Could you please help to follow the steps below?
1. enter bios utility and press F5 & F10 to boot into windows
2. restart in windows and enter bios utility again to change to CPU voltage offset of -0.005. Then, save and boot into windows
3. Please check if it freeze at idle or low cpu usage tasks and share us the scenario in detail.
4. How long does the freezing issue occur?
5. May I have a video when you try step 1-3 and the issue occurring?
Thank you.
