    XMP Unstable / Z690 Extreme v1403 + QVL CMT32GX5M2X6200C36(Ver 5.43.13)

    Hi everyone,

I'm trying to run 1 kit (bought 2 but yeah that's not going to happen apparently) of Corsair's QVL CMT32GX5M2X6200C36(Ver 5.43.13). It is unstable in both XMP I & II.

After many attempts I've passed overnight passes of Karhu and HCI Memtest by clearing CMOS, leaving tuner setting at auto, disabling MCE, and manually entering XMP timings & voltages. Am currently in the middle of OCCT Memtest, but I figure with the coverage %s I achieved in Karhu and HCI Memtest I'm stable.

    Two questions:
    1) Why are neither of the two QVL kits able to run at either XMP I or II?
    1) Am I missing something in terms of performance by manually entering these settings instead of activating XMP?

It seems to be a common problem on z690, certainly on Asus boards
XMP profiles simply don’t work sadly and if they do are just not stable
*I’m not sure if it’s down to memory or the bios, but my own 6000mhz g-skill z5 can only run at 5800

There are four slots for ddr5 on the board for example, but I know in advance it won’t run all four sticks as many have tried and failed, so you are not alone
I’m hoping Asus might improve this in future bios updates but I’m not holding my breath sadly, it might also improve as ddr5 memory matures.

But it is wrong to advertise ddr5 running at frequencies it simply doesn’t run at*
