Hi pc:
12900K with NZXT KRAKEN X73 ( 40-50C in Far Cry 6 )
2x16GB DDR4 KINGSTON DDR4 3600MHZ in GEAR 1
RTX 3090 Ti Gigabyte Gaming
Aorus Z690 Elite DDR4 bios F5
SSD 1 TB NVM PCIE
Seasonic 1300W PX Prime Platinium
Control crashing randomly to desktop. App error in event logs:rlmdwin10 dll. No driver crash.
rl_rmdwin10_f.dll as fault in event viewer
Cpu and gpu is on stock. Only XMP on 3600 in gear 1.
No errors in Karhu Ram test. No errors in HCI MEMTEST. Other games no crashing. Only Control. I tried to windows 11 but still crashing.
I read somewhere to disable e-cores maybe? But i dont know how to do that.
On my previous platform with 10850K Control was not crashing. Now on 12900K crashing. Thx

I'm not sure if this is what you were thinking of but if you
bring up the Task Manager
Right-click on a process and click on Go to Details
Right-click again and click Set Affinity.
There you have the option to choose which cores will be used to run that process.* Support disease research with Folding@Home *

Absolutely. I know with other games there have been instances where specific scenes caused crashes. Anything you can easily test to either eliminate variables or strengthen your investigation will help.
That's why even though you did memory testing Scone recommended trying with XMP off. It just checks one more thing off the list of unknown variables.
However, based on that Reddit thread you linked it seems like there may be an issue for either Intel or Nvidia to fix. One user had a list of changes they made to lessen the frequency of crashes but there doesn't seem to be a permanent fix.Last edited by xeromist; 05-25-2022 at 05:53 PM.
