AM4 ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Hero
This is the motherboard I am most interested in getting. The CPU I have tentatively selected is AMD Ryzen 9 5900X - Ryzen 9 5000 Series Vermeer (Zen 3) 12-Core 3.7 GHz. Would this CPU be compatible with this motherboard? Also, of special concern is the
statement BIOS update might require for AMD Zen 3 Ryzen 5000 series CPU. I don't have any other AMD CPUs so that I can flash the BIOS, and I don't want to end up with unusable hardware.

The motherboard should have a Ryzen 5000 series BIOS installed, even if it didn't, you can flash without the CPU in it or flash with the CPU installed to the suitable BIOS

Hi,
X570 should work with 5000 series out of the gate. If wanting to update prior to CPU installation use USBFlashback using a fully formatted FAT32 pendrive.
