ASUS ROG Maximus Z690 Extreme Issues - HELP!

    Hey Everyone,

I need some help, advices, and guidance. I have been pulling my hair out on this one and I need some insight as to what to try for those who have this motherboard. I built this computer from new, using Windows 11. I have had nothing but crashes, errors in the event log. I have had memory issues. I have replaced the motherboard twice now and ASUS now wants me to send it in AGAIN. So if I send it back to the retailer to be replaced again, this will be the 3rd time. I am sorry, but three motherboards that ASUS says is bad in a row, is there a defect on this board that I/WE dont know about? ASUS tech support has been no help other than wanting me to send the boards back to be repaired. I have noticed that ASUS has removed this board from their site as being available in their lineup.... since this post.

    Error's I am getting:
    1. Session "NT Kernel Logger" failed to start with the following error: 0xC0000035
    2. Session "dc3a3596-71e1-45a3-b2ea-39ad5322fe51" failed to start with the following error: 0xC0000022

Your memory may be the cause. List your hardware here so as fellow member may try to help.

    Sounds like instability.

Return to optimised defaults and retest the system. This includes no XMP or overclocking of any kind. Once confirmed, post up and we will see what we can do to dial things in.

Running defaults on the boards, absolutely no over clocking on the system at all. I have even disabled all that I could find. Ram is Corsair Dominator 64gb, 2x32 dimms. I am on my 3rd motherboard, 3rd set of memory as well. Have reinstalled windows from fresh each time. This is from a Corsair report they had me send in. What is the best way to list my hardware, is there a utility I can run and save for you?

What is the best way to list my hardware? Not sure if this is right, but I listed this from CPUID. Also, what is odd, is I can run benchmarks all day long in 3DMark, PCMark10 and such and pass with not one error or crash. Gigabyte wants to replace the card as of the email I received yesterday.

What static precautions did you take? These sorts of problems are typical of damaged components from ESD during the installation. All components should be handled by their edges only, never touch the PCB components or tracks as salts and oils from our skin can cause what look like shorts at the high frequencies used and static discharge damage is more likely, always wear an anti-static wrist strap and follow other good ESD safe working practices which can be found with a Google or in depth here https://uk.rs-online.com/web/general...otection-guide

If this is static damage due to poor installation technique, then you can't trust any component from being error free or developing errors in the future.

Unit was built on a static mat with grounding strap at my kitchen table in an open space with lots of room. I also used rubber gloves, surgical grade when handling all components.

Currently I am running 516.40, which I installed yesterday 06/16/2022. I have done on a fresh install, and tried using DDU. I always do a clean install when installing and geforce experience is not installed.

In googling, there seems to be alot of quality issues with 3080's in the market. Could it not be just a defective card?

OK, do you have any other system to try your GPU? If so go ahead. We have to zoom down all possibilities.
