ASUS Live Update
Sorry for the newbie question.
I have a new ROG Zephyrus M16 GU603 laptop. I get this annoying pop up from ASUS Live Update to install new drivers. For me ASUS Live Update is part of the MyASUS app. I always hit postpone on the pop up.
However, what if I was running a long program unattended and this pop up shows up.
If it does not get a response, will it then try to install the driver and re-boot my machine, this killing my long program?
If so, this is a terrible outcome. How do people put up with it? It makes ASUS machines worthless for running long programs.

Why are you asking how people can live with it when you don't even know if "it" will even happen?
You can test it your self.
BTW, Live update doesn't pop-up anything for drivers on my PC. Don't know what the difference is.

I said I dinn't know the difference. I realizes I have not installed MyAsus and there is a BIOS setting that, if turned on, asks you to install it when you boot up, which I also have disabled.
Just uninstall MyAsus if it is the source.

This is the answer I got from escalated ASUS support. ASUS Live Update indeed will try to install new drivers and re-flash your BIOS and then reboot, thus killing any long program you have running. However, if Live Update is part of the MyASUS app, then there is a switch called "Automatic Essential Update". If the switch is off, then ASUS Live Update will not automatically try to install drivers and re-flash the BIOS but the pop-up will still appear, which you can ignore. I don't know if there is any switch if ASUS Live Update is not part of the MyASUS app.
