Honestly, if you're playing sc2 on ultra at 1080p and battling with mass carriers, I would expect a fps drop like you experienced.

I see you have ThrottleStop as part of your bios, and the 192bit 560m, so I bet it's probably bottlenecking somewhere. You could try overclocking your GPU but it may be CPU-limited. Imo, I don't think there is a problem.

You might want to try throttle stop, as I recall sc2 was one of the games that would cause throttling on the g74. you can find it under the drivers and apps sticky.

Yeah, this seems about right. Mass carriers, 2v2, macro (4x 200 supply?) game... What are your temps during all this?

What is your performance like with standard 1v1s?

Also, don't worry about Diablo 3, I imagine SC2 takes more out of the system due to all the action happening off-screen that requires processing. With D3 it only needs to process what's going on on-screen.

Oh I thought the whole bios mod was supposed to stop bottle necking? And okay.. Fps is good in the 70s otherwise but I notice when I move the mouse to top/bottom/side to side to move around map there is a line almost like an Internet page loading slow but not nearly as noticeable. However if I grab my view space on the miniap and move it as fast as possible it looks good. Temps are good actually very low, 57-63 at about an hour game

The BIOS mod simply stops the CPU from throttling down to 798mhz once it hits 75degrees, it has nothing to do with CPU-GPU communication/bottlenecks.

i really doubt that there can be a frame drop, cause i have a g74sx pretty much the same stuff you have on the lappy . and when i go sc2 on everything to the max settings the only time i would ever come close to a frame drop was when i spammed battle cruisers to test out how much this laptop can handle . and the only thing that happened was the game would lower the setting itself to make it run smoothly agian . but onto something else. i would say if you werent being spammed or spamming those units. then did you check if you lappy was plugged in ? that happened once on another occasion and i just plugged it in and it went back to normal agian .

There really was an fps drop I was using fraps. It was actually my carriers vs buddies battle cruisers. I didn't even get the message "computer us slowing the game down"

Also how do you fix bottle necking or is it possible?
