Intel Chipset Device Software Driver / RunDLL Error / Windows 11 22H2

Hi ASUS ROG Community,

I decided to do a clean install of Windows 11 (22H2) on my ASUS ROG Maximus XII Extreme. Once Windows 11 and its updates have been installed successfully, when I try to install the Intel Chipset Device Software Driver I get the the following error.

95285

All the other drivers install with no issues.

Would anyone know what this is or how to fix this?

Thanks,*

The management interface is now a Windows app and is updated through the Microsoft store.

Get the latest version from Intel for your board. It will install the drivers, and install the management interface as an app.

I assume you are trying to install from your installation CD? Try the up-to-date chipset drivers here:

Hey,

No, I downloaded the drivers from the Asus Motherboard Support Page for my Motherboard.

The version in that link if different then the one suggested on the support page? Does this matter?Â*

Okay thanks, I’ll give it a try but I wonder why Asus doesn’t update their support pages with the latest version?

Because their attention is on Z790 now.

The new driver has the same error. 😞

Well, I am not a programmer, so I may not be that informed, but the fact it is showing a .tmp file seems a little strange. After you extract the download, you are selecting the AsusSetup.exe?

Have you checked the path C:\Installer\ for those files?

The chipset drivers are the third downloaded listed in that section.

I have a XII Hero but have not done a clean install and just got 22H2 yesterday.

If the files may have been corrupted, for some reason, perhaps you need to download the installer to a different location and see if it works the same. I don't have a C:\Installer folder on my system but it may have been removed after the install was complete.
