RGB Lighting still not working properly
Form with valid log received, case is processing. Is your system overclocked?
I bought a ROG Maximus Z690 Extreme one year ago, which has a lot of RGB on it. I also have 2 G-Skill RAM modules with RGB and a led strip. Next to it an Asus Chakram Core mouse with RGB. When all is set up it works ok, all rgb syncs nicely.
That is until i shut down my pc and turn it on next day. Most of the time either 1 of the RAM RGB will hang or blink in 1 corner or simply not turn on, or the mouse is not recognized and doesn't sync anymore.
To fix it i have to reboot at least 4 times to get it to recognize everything and sync properly again. The RAM will only reset properly if i shut off the pc, but then most of the times my mouse is not recognized, the mouse will only be recognized after a restart.
It is highly frustrating that after 1 year this software is still not stable enough to make this work properly.
I found that it is a little more stable if i change the lightingservice to start delayed instead of direct.
I read in one of the posts before this one that it should keep this settings even during reboot??? That never happened as far as i know. It ALWAYS boots with the default rainbows.
Oh, and i posted this before and it is still not solved: I can turn off "In-Game lighting effects", but that setting always turns back on.
Update: I just uninstalled and reinstalled AC twice, and guess what... Now i can no longer update ROG Fan Controller and Chakram, so i am not able to control my fans or my mouse!!!! So much for that tip.... Btw, i made a separate post for this error 12 (#60). I hope someone can help me with this.
To make matters even weirder, the RAM which was failing all the time now seems to be the most stable RGB component. The motherboard now has problems loading RGB after cold boot. I seems to work after a restart.
UPDATE 24-11-2022: Somehow this is solved, the HAL has been updated (no idea how). But i am back to my original problem, the RGB on my RAM modules and mouse is really unstable. 9 out of 10 times it does not work properly after cold boot and i need to restart several times to get it right.
I can not imagine this is how it should be with a motherboard of 900 euros.

null window Nvidia Web Helper error on restart or shutdown
Form received without a log. Note that you can commence recording for a log and stop (generate) after you have rebooted. Please attach a log to your existing form to proceed, thanks.
I always get this error on shut down or restart:
---------------------------
null window: NVIDIA Web Helper.exe - Application Error
---------------------------
The instruction at 0x000000006308BD60 referenced memory at 0x000000006308BD60. The memory could not be written.
Click on OK to terminate the program
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------
This is a clean windows install with stock bios settings. Windows was updated fully first. Then I installed the chipset drivers from AMD. Nvidia drivers and Geforce Experience from Nvidia. No other programs, software or apps were installed. If I uninstall Armoury Crate using the uninstall tool the problem goes away. If I uninstall Geforce Experience the problem also goes away. The problem lies with armoury crate and Geforce Experience not talking to one another correctly. Since the problem happens at shutdowns or restarts a log is not possible. This is a custom built desktop with mostly Asus ROG parts. Unable to update HAL, error code 12
Error 12 resolved. Refer to previous issue #56.
After having issues with the lighting i uninstalled AC and installed it again. I did this about 6 times and I still am unable to update the HAL for my fan controller and my chakram core. I keep getting a code 12 error.
My windows event log shows me the following:
The logfile verify.log in C:\Program Files\ASUS\Aac_Mouse shows this:
[2022-11-18 11:40:50]
<< TS PMOC ehng tyg >>
[2022-11-18 11:40:50] Asus Installer Verifier, version: 1,1,3,0
[2022-11-18 11:40:50] Add property mapping: [INSTALLFOLDER] --> C:\Program Files\ASUS\Aac_Mouse\
[2022-11-18 11:40:50] Process digest file...
[2022-11-18 11:40:50] Digest file using hash algorithm: sha1
[2022-11-18 11:40:50] Done, 1 entries loaded.
[2022-11-18 11:40:50] [Verify] Fail to open target file: 'C:\Program Files\ASUS\Aac_Mouse\Aac3572MbHal_x86.exe'
Which makes sense, since that file really does not exist. Only verify.log exists in that directory.
I can't find errors or logs for the fan controller, but it won't install either...
UPDATE 24-11-2022: Somehow, all magically, this problem is solved... The HAL has been updated. But now I am back to my previous error post #56... My RGB is really unstable, specially on the RAM modules...Last edited by MasterC@ROG; 11-28-2022 at 03:55 AM.
