Congrats super-bro, but it doesn't make any business sense for me to purchase every gen, it's only a typewriter build for heaven's sake.

SuperBraegnok, how do I turn off the e-cores in the ROG bios?

I'm coming from Rocket Lake and skipped Alder, lots of new items in bios I'm unfamiliar with.

Is it something like disable hybrid cores? lol

My PCB is white, yet Tiny Tom Logan in his preview video said his was light gray.

Believe it may depend on the type of light you throw on the board, older yellow indoor bulbs will make the board appear light gray whereas LED super-white lighting and natural sunlight, the PCB is very white. There's also a white flake powdercoat on some of the heatsink components that is directionally reflecting, the same heatsink will appear silver from one viewing angle and then white from another, very cool and expensive to create, ROG really put in the extra-effort with this Apex board.

I can understand completely, both he and Braegnok owned substandard Z690 Apex boards that would not OC mem kits well. That kind of stuff, those bad hardware experiences, stay with you for awhile, probably why Braegnok is going with a Z790 Dark this gen.

Maybe kvarq will grab a Z790 Apex and maybe not. Come on back bro and tell us how ya feel.

As soon as I figure out how to turn off the e-cores I'm going for 8000MT/s DDR5, woooooooooo!

How cool is this? Love it. Just stumbled upon it on Amazon. Not buying it, just thought it looked great.

It does look very cool John, yet I believe hours of typing on that thing would lead to serious carpal tunnel. lol


Lots of keyboards made for show these days, the market must be HUGE.

Advanced/cpu config,.. is for adjusting active p-cores or active e-cores,.. and disable efficient-cores.

Thank you. I set active e-cores to 0, boot time is faster and single thread performance also improved.

Now, I'm going for the big 8000!

I'll use 1.45v and 38CL for 1st attempt.
