Hi,
If you are looking for the package version number of the Intel Chipset Drivers you are using, you can simply see it via Settings > Applications : Intel(R) Chipset Device Software.
If you are looking for the version number of the Intel Chipset Drivers you are using, use Driver Store Explorer and by looking in System devices category in the INF column for the .inf files ending with system from INTEL. You can see via the Device Name column which devices in the Device Manager use which drivers.
Note (from Intel) : Intel(R) Chipset Device Software uses an unusual date for the devices it is targeting. The date 07/18/1968 is symbolic - Intel was founded that day.

Yea I see the chipset entry when I look under applications but this is all I see when I check with DriverStoreExplorer. I see the two entries with the date you mentioned but nothing with the 10.1.19222.8341 driver version.

Oh that makes sense then. Sorry about that I'm not the greatest with driver knowledge and I did see the correct driver in armoury crate but I guess armoury crate only shows the package version. So those two entries do show that the driver did in fact install (10.1.46.3 is the driver version for package 10.1.19222.8341)? And in the future if I want to see the package version I check the driver store explorer and if I want the package version number I check settings->apps. Is the reason that the package version doesn't show up anywhere (ex: IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers) in the device manager just because it's not technically official?

You don't have to be sorry, it's by asking questions and investigating that we learn, no worry.
Indeed, Armoury Crate refers to the Intel Chipset Drivers package version number.
Correct (the drivers used/installed are different depending on the chipset-CPU pair you are using).
Correct, however be aware that even when you will install a newer Intel Chipset Drivers package with an incremented package version number, the drivers will remain the same if there are no newer drivers in the package.
The devices tagged (see the column Device Name) by Driver Store Explorer as using your Intel Chipset Drivers are visible in your Device Manager > System devices category.
Note : I do not offer modded drivers, I only offer OEM original drivers, WHQL signed by Microsoft (modding is not my field).

Hello folks
I have an Asus Z690 TUF Gaming Plus D4 with a 12700K and 128GB DDR4 RAM.
I'm on Bios 1304 and performance is kind of ok, so I think I will stay here considering some of the reports I've heard of later Bios versions, especially when I hear of limited rollback options too.
I gather that updating ME stuff is somehow connected with Bios version so, similarly, I want to steer clear of that.
But is it relatively safe to update the Chipset and MEI drivers? Is it safe to update them while staying on Bios 1304?
I haven't updated them since last summer and I'm wondering if I might see some improved performance if I do.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks

Hi,
I don't recommend doing what you are doing (staying on outdated BIOS/firmware/drivers for one reason or another), however I respect your choice and I will answer you anyway.
Intel ME Firmware Update :
Even if there shouldn't be any major worries, I don't advise you to update your Intel ME firmware to the last with your current BIOS 1304.
It is more optimal to use the Intel ME firmware branch around which the BIOS and its microcodes is built :
BIOS 2004 or newer : Intel ME Firmware 16.1.xx.xxxx
BIOS 1720 or older : Intel ME Firmware 16.0.xx.xxxx
So with your current BIOS 1304, you can update your Intel ME firmware to the last one from Intel ME firmware 16.0 branch from your motherboard support page : https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/m....15.1735_T.zip.
However, it will remain vulnerable, you will can check this here : [SOFTWARE] Intel ME Security Check (1xx/2xx/3xx/4xx/5xx/6xx/7xx).
Intel Chipset/MEI/VMD/Serial IO/GNA Drivers Update :
You can update your drivers without any worries, but if the root cause of an issue is in your current BIOS and that you do not want to update it, you can update all the drivers of your PC, the issue will remain.
