I am in same situation please help.

There is a driver update under windows update optional Texas Instruments - System - 1.0.2.6 probably this device's driver. But I am hesitant to install.

It was Texas Instruments Device, downloading the Serial Io driver from https://rog.asus.com/motherboards/rog-maximus/rog-maximus-z790-hero-model/helpdesk_download/ here and choosing repair fixed it for me.

I have similar (but not exactly the same) devices on my Z690 Hero (see image). Maybe that's just because of our board differences. Anyway, all of them use the same drivers - Intel 30.100.2221.20.

That's the same version as the Serial IO drivers on the support pages for my board. So odd. Have you tried installing Intel's Driver and Support Assistant? It might find and install them for you - worth a try if the support page drivers are not installing correctly.

Failing that, have you tried to install the support page's drivers package with admin rights?

I can only add that I have no idea why the BIOS update would have affected this. Strange things can happen!

The device is tied in with the Thunderbolt controller. I did also see the Texas Instruments driver Windows offers and it did get rid of the unknown device.

I think the first time it went away was when I installed the Thunderbolt drivers but follow on attempts did not work. I might try a reinstall but this time not allow it to repair but remove and reinstall. I will get back if that works.

There are drivers in the Microsoft catalog, just enter the HardwareID. They are newer than the first one Windows 11 gave me.

No idea about that, sorry. Maybe somebody else on here has found a fix?

The repair did not seem to help my system but this is what it shows now.

Ah, OK, I thought Shinchan was taking about his Serial IO I2C Host Controller - 7A4E. On my 690, I don't have the TPS659xx Device at all. Perhaps that's just a 790 board thing then...

In the Serial IO installer, there is a folder UCM_TI\Win11. That folder contains the same driver I just downloaded from the Microsoft catalog. All I did was select the .inf file in that folder and select Install from the right click menu.
