About the universal charger I think it will work just fine on the G74SX as it's works on the G73SW (I mean that I've also read somewhere Chastity used that notebook with 180W charger.... I can be very wrong here....).

I really hope a BIOS fix will be out soon if not on Asus Support site, they could post it here in the forum. I know @ColonelS have talked to the guys who are supposed to fix this, but I haven't seen any new update/fix about that 😞

About the G75, that notebook won't suffer from the throttling issue since it got the Ivy Brigde controller and not Sandy Bridge controller. Unless there is any undiscovered issues with the Ivy Bridge that Intel haven't discovered yet.

But yes, the throttling issue should have been fixed before they released the G74. Better product with better support will give the buyer better experience of the brand and most likely they will stick to the same brand next time they look at a new notebook or something.
In other words they should have listend to the issues on the previous models and looked into how to fix that on the new model so it wont happend (and give a fix for the previous ones).

Which SSDs are you looking at?
