Hello guys, can someone tell me how max much i can reach with Gene V and 3770k in overclock?? I have a EK full water cooling system and i´m gonna buy those componnents this week so....

Here´s the full set:

Cooler master CM690 II
Cooler Master Gold edition 1000w
Asus Maximus gene V
I7 3770k
Asus GTX680 DirectCU
16GB Ripjaws PC17000 (2133)
OCZ vertex 3 sata III 120GB for windows
1TB Raid 0 for software and games

For much i can see, Gene V can really kiss ass both 2600k and 2700k and reach 5.2GHZ easily, can it be done to with 3770k???

It depends on your coolings limit mate. These chips run very very warm. I think 4.6 - 4.8 should be your aim for a start. Anything above this is a bonus.

What about GTX680, what do you think of this gpu?? I see that you have a tri fire of 7970 and i am a little confused because 7970 has nice benchs too, i gonna use a GTX460 for physx anyway until a reach 7970 crossfire ou 680 Sli, what do you think???

4.8GHz with a kit water cooling system 24/7 is about it for most CPU's

HD7970 are really good cards and I have put both my GTX 680's on the shelf and have my AMD cards in my system.

Which happens to be a Maximus Gene board.

Hello, got the setup ready ( Maximus gene + i7 3770k wcooled w/ EK + 16GB ripjaws 2133+ EVGA GTX680SC + GTX460 1GB for Physx) but i think this chip is really hot because i´m hitting the 4.7ghz with 1.28vcore and temps are 95º in full and 25 in iddle, so much diference btw temps, why??? My old xeon x3470 in iddle was 32º and full never passes 67º @ 4.2GHZ with 1.48vcore, i think thats a tweaking problem because i´m new with UEFI interface, or is this chip really hot??

The chip will appear to be hotter than a SB simply because of the size of the die. With the SB you have a much wider and larger surface area that helps spread the heat and allows easier heat removal. IVY die is a small strip less than a cm wide and that makes it harder to shift the heat.
