The first thing I could see is that the processor is different from promos.asus you get i7 3610QM and newegg you get i7 3720

EDIT: which model of G75 DS are you looking at?

I will say this is up to you about how much you want to spend on a notebook... Are you willing to gain the little extra performance in Ivy Bridge from newegg or do you want to spare some money with buying a cheaper one....

Link to compare the processors... http://forum.notebookreview.com/sager-clevo/659767-i7-3612qm-vs-i7-3720qm.html hope they can answer some questions for you 🙂

EDIT: perhaps not the best comparison since the processor is 3612 and not 3610

http://img.gfx.no/1022/1022527/Intel_6.jpg i7 3720QM Base Freq 2.60, and when needed 3.60 (if I'm reading this right)

http://img.gfx.no/1022/1022528/Intel_7.jpg i7 3610QM Base Freq 2.30, and when needed 3.30

Thanks, that comparison helps and yes you were reading it right. I need to get it from newegg because they gave me store credit for the ux31 =( there is 1500$ that I cant use anywhere else. It looks like tho the ns series is going to be top model other than the 3d ns. Newegg only caring the ns72!
If you were getting a g75 and you had the money to get the NS, would you? or would you get the DS? I am really indecisive lol

I'm really stuck on that situation my self since others on this forum is saying that the GTX 660 is better then GTX670 (unless I'm very wrong about this) since one of them is fermi based and the other is kepler..... I'm not so good with the difference on these and why the one is better.. so i'll have to digg on it and see what I can find out..

EDIT: I'm not going to buy a new notebook since I bought the G73SW 3DE 7-8 months ago =/ But I'm interested on the technical information on this notebook and learn more about the hardware that it uses and compare them to others 🙂

EDIT 2: Also if you're not in a hurry to buy a new notebook.... perhaps you should wait and see if newegg comes with more models?

I might have misunderstood that too than. The 660 is the fermi and 670 kepler that is what i thought.
this is a side by side http://blog.cuvilib.com/2012/03/28/nvidia-cuda-kepler-vs-fermi-architecture/
dont know if its much help.

I still think that 670 will perform better than the 660.

I did find this site: http://3dvision-blog.com/tag/geforce-gtx-670m/

Scroll down to the first table and then you can see the difference on GTX670m and GTX660m

EDIT: Asus should have used GTX675m on G75 to make it better then the old series. Just to bad that the GTX660 is 128-bit =/

Thanks for the info 🙂

wow um ok.
Graphics performance is also lower for the GTX 660M over the GTX 670M .
"In comparison to the old G74, the new model has seen significant external and internal updates. Let's start with the graphics card: instead of the GeForce GTX 560M, the G75 uses the much faster GeForce GTX 670M. This high-end graphics card does not use Nvidia's new Kepler architecture, but the performance increase is still significant. According to our sources, there will be models with the slower (but Kepler-based) GeForce GTX 660M."
So confused now! the early release of the g75 will have Fermi based 670 later on models will have kepler. wtf!
