G73 problems

About a year ago I purchased a g73 from a local best buy. Everything worked great for 6 months or so. Then everything went to hell. First, it started overheating. Constantly. Not even 2 minutes after I turned it on it would over heat. I took it to get it checked, and eventually came to updating the BIOS to 213 and cleaning out the fan. I did that 2 or 3 days ago. Last night, it went back to hell. It ran great again for a day or 2, and now its freezing again. Gsod, blue screen, black screen, plain freezing, you name it, it all happens within 2 hours last night. I'm not sure if itsisdo going on? overheating, but the temperature monitor I have said it idled at about 50 Celsius. I'm not sure if that's good or bad, but could I get some feedback or advice if anyone knows what is going on? Thanks

Have you performed a vBIOS update? if not look at this thread http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?774-G73jh-vBios-update-tutorial-for-GSOD-matter.

A idle temp is around 45-50 so yours is good 🙂

One more question, when I'm playing games it sometimes gets up to 60-65. Is that still OK?

did you recently update your nvidia graphics drives ? to 296.1 ?
i blame drivers + overheat for this.
i did and i had this same problem + blue screen .

just delete all nvidia drivers, reboot, let it install your original drivers, this may help.

The G73JH has an ATI GPU so I think he will have problems uninstalling nvidia drivers 😛

I play css on my G73SW and the temps SIW (system information for windows) registered while playing is 75 celcius.... and that is normal temps 75 - 80.... if you get 90 when you play then you should start cleaning your fans for dust and update drivers to it's latest to see if that helps 🙂
