PC Build

Heya guys/gals

I'm looking to create another PC over the next few months for my girlfriend as a early xmas present and since she has had a super old PC for 4-6 years and doesn't know a blind bit about them apart from turning them on/off and playing games =P, I thought i'd get her a new system and i've thought over some products i think that would be nice for her and allow her to really enjoy her gaming.

So this is what i have come up with so far:

PSU : http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B003QP417E/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&m=A17AS5ETPMZ9A1
Mobo : http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B007KZQEHQ/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE
CPU Cooler : http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0051U7HMI/ref=ox_sc_act_title_5?ie=UTF8&m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE
Case : http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B005X3E4YC/ref=ox_sc_act_title_6?ie=UTF8&m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE
GFX : http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004RHPN2M/ref=ox_sc_act_title_7?ie=UTF8&m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE
SSD : http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0057QETGS/ref=ox_sc_act_title_8?ie=UTF8&m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE
RAM : http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0050119O0/ref=ox_sc_act_title_9?ie=UTF8&m=A3K5HHD3KZXXBZ
CPU : http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B007RUZKK6/ref=ox_sc_act_title_10?ie=UTF8&m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE

Anyone with suggestions or think that this is a good build? What i'm after out of the system is to be able to give her a really awesome OC on her PC (I think shes running 2.2ghz :D) and a quiet PC .. hers is like a train just came back and left its trash, It's super noisey and i definatly don't want her poking her fingers inside to try clean things (hense the reason to the board) but also its got alot of head room on it as she does like to store stuff for later, and the various things like.. youtube/browsing/opening games/few photo's and overall a stress free computer - Now i've looked over the price difference between Gene Z/Gen3 and Gene V an Sabertooth and there is small $ difference in the UK at amazon.co.uk.

So what you all think, good system setup for her to get her updated on the times?

My friend you have put together a nice system that is for sure.

You might think about the 560Ti rather than the 550 but that is just a small detail.
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.

Yeah but is there is any reason ?? I don't see much difference between them so if there was solid evidence i would swap it out no problem.

Glad i did something nice she'll be happy when she opens it up 🙂

Go have a look if the performance difference is worth the extra cost.

Yeah she does alot of gaming she also likes to keep applications open like Skype (for when we aren't around each other's home) and likes to share screen like i do when we are playing games so we can giggle at our failures =P and she has been coping with a 8600 graphics card for years so she really needs a upgrade, she wants to play more games but is quite restricted by her whole PC.

Shes running at 60'C idle too .. pro that she has no cooling fans and no thermal paste left =P

Edit: Thanks for that HiVisMan :P, They looked so damn similar it was hard to find out how different they are, but now looking i can see why you suggested that. Okay 550 changed for the 560, is there any other parts that could be changed or all good to get? I'll be getting her a 2TB HDD for storage too properly 7200RPM/64MB cache Seagate Drive.

buy a couple more fans ( quiet ones ) since -> An included top 200 mm exhaust fan, rear 120 mm fan and up to seven more optional fans in strategic positions

I was going to settle on installing these:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cooler-Master-Excalibur-120mm-Fan/dp/B0037RD34I

Or do you have any suggestions for quieter fans?? Price seems abit steep but i don't mind paying that if i have to because it has a 4-pin header to it, I haven't been able to find many fans like this .. that would allow me to place them on the board the way i am wanting so i could turn them down and these have a high CFM

i have fractial design, they are quiet but slow ( only 3 pins ) and black sleeved. my 140 runs at around 600rpm ( 9 db ) and there are those at 120mm that runs on 1000rpm ( 15 db )
http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_0_17?url=search-alias%3Dcomputers&field-keywords=fractal+de...
this is the ones i have and am experienced whit, but if you need more airflow go whit ones thats faster.
or if you want to, you can invest in a cheep fan controller ( later ) 🙂
