Same as MisterKief, this is the only problem i have with this computer, so it doesn't take much to make me a happy customer

I just wanted to add myself as having this same issue with my G75VW for bug report tracking purposes. This is the only issue I've had so far.

If it's a change from VIA (or any other 3rd party) it will take longer to change the software because we don't have control over their fix rate.

Just adding to this thread. I have this problem as well. I've found that if I press FN+F11 to lower the volume 1 notch, and then press FN+F12 to raise it a notch, that seems to redirect the sound back to the proper output device.

It's annoying to have to do this.

The far bigger problem is the "random audio and graphic spikes" issue. (See this thread.)

When I'm watching a video, playing music, or playing a game, I will experience these random occurrences where the audio suddenly stutters really bad. It's like some kind of massive CPU spike. The mouse cursor stops moving and the audio will screech really bad.

    Subwoofer volume issue

Same subwoofer volume issue as everyone else. Since Best Buy has a thirty day return policy, ASUS has a 29 day repair window.

    RD reports these issues:

    2) The main volume control doesn't affect subwoofer volume, until it's at 0! (It should always stay relative to other speakers value when in 2.1 mode)
2a) The main volume control DOES affect subwoofer volume in the case of #1.

Have been fixed by the most recent driver update on our site. If you are using other drivers (direct from VIA) we cannot guarantee it will work. If you ARE using the official drivers from the ASUS site and are still having problems, please list them. Thanks!

I'm using the most recent driver update on your site. It doesn't work.

Marshall this is not correct. I was testing originally on Version V6.0.01.10400 which was removed for a while from asus support and is now back.

All of the problems reported with the shipped driver also occur on newer one ... all of them. Please do not take anyone's word on this get a machine and test it yourself.

Along with the original problems when you install the latest driver the control panel item Via HD Audio deck will not run but does run when you fall back to original driver.

Let's take this seriously asus and investigate it and get it fixed otherwise this forum will continue to be filled with people reporting issues here.

Sorry, have the latest software and the subwoofer volume is not controlled by the main volume control.
