    The ROG Tytan CG8580 Unboxed

The ROG Tytan CG8565 made its debut a year ago. Fast forward to 2012, and a new ROG Tytan with the codename CG8580 takes its bow. It retains the same menacing design elements of its earlier sibling ROG Tytan CG8565, but with new hardware upgrades.

The ASUS Singapore team did a quick unboxing of the new ROG Tytan CG8580. Enjoy~

You'll not miss this on your doorstep!

Firstly: The packaging sports some battle scars as it got “manhandled” by the over-enthusiastic courier on its journey from our Taiwan HQ. The good news is that the hardware inside is without damage, which what matters, so if your local postal service practices football in the warehouse it shouldn’t affect your new gaming PC!

The front cover lowers itself at a press

A close up on that front cover: The brightly-lit ROG logo to pledge your allegiance. Red signifies the maximum overclock (naturally), while a blue backlight indicates a ‘normal’ overclock.

Plenty of ports for your peripheral needs:

Under the motherboard I/O is a Xonar DX and a GeForce GTX 680.

    What’s in the extra’s box?

It’s a bundled ROG gaming keyboard and mouse. The keyboard has MX-black’s fitted.

You’ve seen the Tytan, now let’s check out the upgraded specs:

The Core i7-3770K is overclocked to 4.2GHz out the box, but with two press’ of the Speed button in the top corner of the case and it’ll immediately overclock to 4.6GHz! You can also use ASUS’ GPU Tweak software with the GTX 680 for overclocking on the graphics card too. Let us know your thoughts on the new Tytan, in the forums.

Thanks Marshall, That however was my problem. I looked on where to buy and literally scoured every site looking for any ROG desktop and all I can seem to find in inventory let alone in stock were laptops the G75VW and 74. As far as desktop's go all I can find is your run of the mill Essentials regualar use desktops. If you happen to find a retailer or online store that I can order from even if its out of country from the US as well as a price, I would be in your debt.

Thank you for taking the time to try and help.

Did you try to ask the US team via Facebook or Twitter? It could be that it's stocked by specialists or needs a special order. These are local decisions and I work at HQ so I don't know every region sorry.

I will push the DT team here as well to see what's happening about availability.

This is a reply a member got recently when he enquired about the CG8580 through the FB Page (In bold)

"Or if." I'm dying here. I can't understand why they would even begin to consider NOT releasing it, especially since they just showed off the new one at CES.

Anyways, on the bright side, I probably won't be buying until probably December or maybe even January... so I've got time. I'm just freaking because I had no idea ASUS had gone into the gaming desktop market.

Anyways, thanks for your help, mate. Hell of a quick reply :P

Thanks for the info. It's a shame, but we have to work with what our local retailer partners decide to stock. I am contacting people on this side to see if we can chase different avenues.

Can't say I am a fan of the case design ( Although the matte metallic Black quality of the surface was succesful )
    &
I already have the best mouse and Keyboard ever made Ditto for my custom mod case. But I am willing to bet that everyone with ROG motherboards or GPU's in their RIGs are drooling over the beautiful caselight!

In which case I got to beg! Please make these available fer the modding enthusiast! ( so I do not have to wait 8 years for these cases to go on sale at a price reasonable enough for the LED BadgeLight! Which I will probably have to do )
