Crosshair V Formula "Can't Find Any Devices" During Post

Hi Everyone,
I just built a new machine. Spec's are:

[AMD FX 8150, ASUS Crosshair V Formula, Corsair Vengeance 8GB DDR3 1866, EVGA GTX570 2.5GB HD, Crucial M4 128GB SSD, WD Caviar 1TB Black HDD, ASUS DVD Writer, Corsiar HX 1050 PSU, Cooler Master 212 EVO, Corsair Carbide 500R, Win 7 Home Premium]

When the system starts the ROG BIOS screen comes up then it goes to POST and says, "Can't Find Any Devices," (doesn't show RAM or any hardware), then it goes back to the ROG BIOS screen, then Starting Windows. Windows starts up and runs fine. What's the deal with the Can't Find Any Devices" message? If I open the BIOS all of my hardware is listed. Also, I have green led's on MB. Updated BIOS to 1402

Reboot your PC and follow these easy steps

1. Enter BIOS
2. Go to "Advanced"
3. Go to "Onboard Devices"
4. Disable "ASM1061 Storage Controller"

Basically it is the ASMedia SATA Port (lone SATA port below the 6 main ones) that is trying to seek a device attached to it, disabling it also speeds up your boot times 🙂

LOL no worries, it does work. I was scratching my head also when I encountered this "issue" until another member pointed me in the direction and holy cow was the boot time nearly insane lol. Oh and by the way, welcome to RoG Forums!! 😄
