Z77 sabertooth Cannot access raid setup Ctrl + I

I am not sure if this is the right forum to post this in, but I'll post it anyways as I really need help and the ASUS technical inquiry staff takes quite a long time to reply. I am trying to build a new gaming pc with the following components:

ASUS Sabertooth z77 bios 1206
Corsair Vengeance 1600mhz xmp
Intel i7- 3770k3.5 Ghz
gtx 560 ti (soon)
Cooler Master 850W
CM Storm tROOPER Chasis
Corsair H100 CPU Cooler

Am uable to get into Raid for z77 Sabertooth. Have tried several variations but to no avail. My last try was reverting to default in Bios- going into advanced settings-Sata Config-AHCI-RAiD (also have tried variations with enabling the hot plug for the HDD). Restart Held Ctrl and repeatedly pressed I but only got to the AMerican Megatrends Page as follows (the usual):

AMIBIOS (C) 2012 American Megatrends, Inc.

ASUS SABERTOOTH Z77 ACPI BIOS Revision 1206
CPU: Intel (R) Core (TM) i7-3770K CPU @ 3.50GHz
Speed: 3500MHz

Total Memory: 8192 (DDR3-1333)

USB Devices total: 0 Drive, 1 Keyboard, 1 Mouse, 3 Hubs

Detected ATA/ATAPI Devices...
SATA Port1: WDC WD10EZRX-00A8LB)
SATA Port3: Optiarc DVD RW AD-7280S

CPU Fan Error!
Press F1 to Run SETUP

Have the latest bios updated without issues. AM using the brown sata 6gbs port for HDD and black 3gbs port for optical drive dvd.

Any urgent assistance will be appreciated

You need more than one hard drive connected.

For a RAID array to work it needs to contain an array of hard drives. One will not work.

Use AHCI mode its the best bet for your set up.

Thanks people.

BUT I realised the issue is more than setting up Raid. In fact on an older PC I somehow managed to set up RAID 1+0 on single hardrive (amd sk 939) and it worked with lead to my assumption.

The real issue is the Device Boot Led. Here is the scenario. Apologies if it is lengthy. It is a cut and paste of a saved specs of the problem.

My computer is brand new - but does not allow booting from dvd or

usb.

Bios updated fine- can enter bios without problems.

"Device Boot Led" is on permanently.

I have tried:

(1) One Ram only
(2) Different Harddisks (also one at a time)
(3) Change of cables
(4) Rolling back to an earlier version of compatible (with ivy

bridge) Bios
(5) updated again to latest version
(6) Checked all powersupply cables
(7) Utilised minimum default settings most of the time
(8) Used only bare system with cpu/hdd/ram

BUT problem persists. Have contacted Asus and they will reply in

only the fastest of after 48 hours. I believe they will suggest

RMA (upon viewing most similar problems)

What I cannot understand is ASUS may have such poor Quality

Control (assuming it is MB in problem)

My Specs:

CPU: i7 3770K
MB: Z77 Sabertooth
RAM: 8 GB (4 GB x 2) Corsair XMP 9-9-9-24 (1.5v) per asus

requirement ram
GPU: None atm but will get gtx560ti frozer
PSU: Coolermaster 850w (80 plus)
HDD: (2x) 1TB WD Green/Blue Cavaier
OS: Cannot install Windows 7 64
Case: CoolerMaster Storm Trooper
Cooling: Corsair H100

Am open to all possible suggestions to having this new rig begin

its voyage

With bootable media, either USB or an optical disk, pressing F8 during Post and choosing either still will not allow booting?

RAID 1+0 requires a minimum of 4 disks.

No problems with the older pc, probably an internal setting.

The current situation, yes, with bootable media both on separate related bios settings (tried both boot from usb and from dvd). Check the dvd and usb on older pc- both are bootable.

RAID by definition requires a certain number of hard drives to be physically present. Not a if or a but about it. That is the physical requirement of the RAID array construction.
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.
