    Need advice for fan setup.

I recently built a new system. I have an NZXT Tempest EVO case and it came with 6 fans installed. I also purchased the NZXT Sentry 2 fan controller which can control up to 5 fans. For an MB I purchased the Asus ROG Maximux V Gene. I love the fan control capabilities of the new MB and the software that came with it. The MB doesn't have 6 fan connections and neither does the controller so I'm not sure which fans to hook up where. After seeing the MB control I would much rather use it for every fan if I could (also a lot less wires in my box if I could ditch the controller which would be ++++); however, I don't want to hook every fan to it and just use the fan controller for 1 fan...

Any advice on how I should hook everything up? The nzxt fan controller came with 5 sensors also and if I do keep the NZXT fan controller I was also wanting some advice on places to put the sensors. Thank you all for your time!

    Adama

P.S. LOVE the new MB so far!!!

Are the fan headers on the motherboard 4 pin PWM, are the case fans 3 pin or 4 pin PWN. You can get adapters to run 2 fans on 1 fan header.
All this may be determined by the fans being 4 pin PWM?

MB has 4 pin, case fans are 3 pin. I had read some on this and I read on some other forum that the yellow wire is for checking the RPM of the fan and if you use a splitter you need to cut this on one of the fans so that only one is sending data? There also seemed to be some debate as to how safe running a splitter was because of the extra current that was drawn.

for me it is much better to hook up your case fans fans on your fan controller... You can hook a single fan on your mobo.. maybe the rear exhaust fan like my set up.. motherboards gets confused sometimes when there are too many fans attached to it...
