Totally disappointed from Asus DC team!

This is an disgrace for Asus, really guys you disappointed me totally, i was waiting like 2 months for 7970 DCII TOP to arrive where i live, i was happy as a 5 year old kid knowing that in few days the card will be mine, only to get to know (in last moment) that from like april this year, your DCII 7970 cards are being voltage locked!??? what if i bought the card? you understand how much pissed of i would be? i couldn't return the card, here in EU, we pay huge prices, and we got no replacement options like in USA, so imagine that please...

Are you guys serious? DCII non reference design, epic cooler, epic power delivery, and yet no voltage control? really? where are the best cards which i praised so much on other forums? and i recommended to all of my friends!? your DCII cards where the best on the market together with the ROG editions.

Even after 7950 DCII cooling issues fiasco you guys didn't learn the lesson? what card should i buy now knowing i'm huge DCII cards fan? what to do? where i live they get DC cards very rare, and now when they get them they are useless!!! this is so frustrating, please report back because you guys will be losing your loyal customers, there are already like 10 threads on different forums about this issues, and almost 3 months passed and yet no offcial answer from Asus? come on guys! i'm really big fan of your cards, please unlock the voltage for us and unleash the full power of this amazing beasts of cards!

Yes, they are voltage locked, users tried different vBIOS version, different programs, everything in short, and nothing can unlock them except hotwire/hard mod :@

This is really frustrating!

Can you be a little more specific ? i dont really understand what your trying to say. And no matter if they can be hardmoded, why there would be reference 7970's unlocked, and DC locked? this is unacceptable, for what do we pay more? and once for all, not all have Rampage IV Extreme, or money to burn on possible warranty issues later on, if card go bad. Please guys try to look on this issue objective.

Could you explain what you mean by 'voltage locked'? What software are you using?

There is some voltage play in the standard DCII and if you flash it with a stock card BIOS you get even more overhead.

I'm very sorry you had to wait so long, but the cards availability is due to the GPU availability unfortunately.

GPU voltage, (core voltage) is locked on 1.175...and you cant alter it any higher...no software is working to unlock it, users tried like 5 different Afterburner versions, different vBIOS, Sapphire trixx, GPU tweak (few versions including the latests) heck one even tried windows 8 and yet no luck, i mean why guys? what happened i cant understand, your cards are perfectly capable of slight overvolting, they got great vrm, and great cooling why would you lock the cards is beyond me 😞

And can you explain me this a bit better?

"There is some voltage play in the standard DCII and if you flash it with a stock card BIOS you get even more overhead" are you saying if someone flash his vBIOS on recent revisons of DCII/TOP cards to reference card the voltage gets unlocked? some users said its impossible due to different vrm/components used on DC cards, please report back this to HQ/DC team we need answers guys!

Here more users report the issue with voltage!
