S/PDIF out only optical?

Hello there!

Got my Phoebus today and wanted to hook it up with my coax cable to the Home Theater System, i had a Auzentech Forte before but that one died. Used the Coax Cable to create a digital link.

Now I see the cable wont fit, is it possible that the S/PDIF Digital out is only via TOSLINK/Optical?

cheers in advance for an answer!

Hello creepin,

I had the same problem (Cambridge Audio speakers with S/PDIF coax input). I did not find a solution so I bought a small optical -> Cinch converter. It's a very small device (the only problem is that it has to be powered externally). I found one on amazon for 16€ (circa 20$) and it works flawlessly. 🙂

Did you manage to get 5.1 Stereo? It is always in surround mode but what if I want the stereo sound to be delivered to all boxes?

My speakers are part of a 2.1 system so I never tried to use 5.1 with them.
