N56VZ BIOS Update failed, now Black Screen...

Hi guys,

as the title says, I updated the BIOS of my N56VZ notebook yesterday. I used the Windows Tool WinFlash and so there was a problem of course...I rebooted and hoped for the best, but now there is only a Blackscreen without POST...

Here the symptoms:

- Black screen
- Power LED is on
- Fan is on
- no BIOS POST test or ASUS logo on screen
- i cant get into the BIOS with any key

Now I read a lot about BIOS recoveries in some Forums and here for the G75...is there an opportunity for a BIOS recovery für the N56VZ? Which tools do i have to use?

Thank you for your advices!

Unfortunately you came here too late mate, a small piece of advice...don't ever use the Windows BIOS Flash tool, always flash your BIOS from BIOS it's self, though, it is recommended you never flash the BIOS, unless you know that the new version fixes something that is wrong with the one you currently have 🙂

you could have used asus' winflash which works, guaranteed. You need to disassemble the laptop to find the jumper to reset the cmos.

hello sir I have the similar problem, but what happened was my friend tried to upgrade the bios using the bios screen. after he did so, the notebook restarted and the notebook won't boot anymore.. totally black screen the power light is ON also the fan.

my notebook is an ASUS k43sv core-i5 with nvidia GT540m. sadly it is already out of warranty. hoping there is still a fix... thanks

any reply would be helpfull 🙂

Have you tried clearing the CMOS?

yes sir, I let it out for 24 hours still no good... same issue 😞 any other option sir?

What I observed is that when I try to start it up, it would somewhat try to read a flash drive when it tried to plug something to it. 😞

thanks for the reply 🙂
