It sounds like more effort was expended on grounding your home's kitchen circuit than elsewhere, probably due to the electrical appliances installed there. I recommend getting an electrician to check out your home electrical circuits. Poorly-grounded, reverse polarity, dirty power can damage sensitive electronic components.
