G53SW Dying gfx card (GTX 460M)
Hi there,
I'm beginning to think that my GTX 460M is failing on my ASUS G53SW-A1 as I've been getting game freezes/crashes that can only be solved by hard-resetting the laptop. Plus, on occassions, I'm beginning to see artifacts (even during bootup, red/pink-ish tearing) from time to time. Hitting/Tapping below the keyboard with the base of my palm could sometimes get it back to normal.
Anyway, I'm curious, is it possible to change/upgrade the G53Sw's graphic card? I'm trying to outsource whatever I can to make this much more affordable.
Thanks!

This may be a heat problem. What are the gaming/idle temps? Have you checked the fans?

You know I had the same problem with one of my xbox 360 I would get a green/red color and artifacts. The way I fixed it was repasting the heatsink with arctic silver 5 and making sure the heat sink sat on the GPU nicely and it took the problem away. maybe this would work for your GPU?
